Welcome to Didjbusker.com

Here you will find loads of material on didjiridu. To start, there are videos, mp3s, and various playing lessons all free to download. There are also some of my didjs for sale. In the links page, there are examples of didj in modern media, links to other didj crafters and players, links to resources on traditional styles of didj (yidaki), and so much more.

Didjbusker.com is also home to the official website of my folk/world/Celtic/ band
BIG BLOW AND THE BUSHWACKERS, where I cover the low end with didjiridus and tuba. The Washington Times described us by saying "envision a gang of Aborigines hijacking an Irish pub". With didjiridus, accordion, mandolin, tuba, trumpet, and more playing a Celtic ballad, then an ancient Icelandic tune, then one of our own songs in the vein of They Might Be Giants, it's a sound you really have to hear rather than read about. See the links page for free band videos, or scroll down and click on one of the CDs for audio samples. Additionally, there is a 15 minute audio sample mix playable on the band page.

Under the Music/Video/Pics tab, there is a wealth of free MUSIC downloads. No previews or soundbites, just all complete tracks. Most of it is not available for purchase, but is only offered here for free. Like the name suggests, there are also more pages of photos and videos available from that tab, including some of my short animations.

This site contains a lot to see, hear, and do. Here are a few of the highlights:
* read my tutorial on circular breathing,
* download free music clips
* view many videos from the links page
* read the list of didj comments
* read one of my busking experiences from the WRITINGS page
* read my rhymed-verse opus - Joe's Therapy - a work in progress regularly updated
* sample Big Blow CDs (click on pics below)
* view the Big Blow page:
The full version page on my band BIG BLOW AND THE BUSHWACKERS is loaded with clickable video clips. For slower connections there is a simplified BIG BLOW page.
* more will be regularly added, but your "shareware-style" financial support is needed.

If you enjoy the content here, and want to support further music and lessons being added, please throw a tip in the hat. Every donation is greatly appreciated - more than you probably know.

7/16/11 - It's been a busy couple of months. Lots of various work keeping me busy by day, and I'm busking whenever I can at night. But for the next few nights, you may notice a little change to my setup. Last night Councilwoman Pillas and her husband strolled the boardwalk. They decided they did not like my coin maze tip contraption. She had the police make me "disable" it. It will still be with me on the boardwalk just as it has for years because my entire rig's portability is designed around custom fitting the handcart with the coin maze, not to mention the safe keeping of tips while performing. For the next few nights however, it will continue to be "disabled", meaning it will not be facing out for use as a coin tip collector, but only as a base for my gear's portability. I apologize to those who may have wanted to use the coin maze during its "disabled" period. Hopefully this will be resolved with the City Council very soon.

The following photos are just a few of the many pics available from the PHOTOS PAGE

A beautiful August morning view in southern West Virginia

A panoramic view of the New River Gorge Bridge - the bridge featured on the West Virginia state quarter.
If you have the chance, stop in the visitor center, get the tour CD, and make the "pre-bridge" trip down one side, cross the original (restored) bridge at the bottom, and come up the other side. It's less than an hour trip if you don't stop for all the amazing photo ops. A beautiful part of our National Parks.                               Photo taken in August 2009
